Roll from the center outward. Once the roller is making contact with the guides on both sides, the clay has reached the desired thickness.

Place one guide on the left and one on the right of the clay. Ensure they are far enough apart that your roller can bridge the gap and rest on both guides simultaneously. Roll from the center outward
