The story begins with (Fabrice Luchini) launching an invasion of Britannia (ancient Britain). While most of the island falls to the Roman legions, one small village led by Queen Cordelia (Catherine Deneuve) continues to hold out. Recognizing they need help, the Queen dispatches Anticlimax (Guillaume Gallienne) to Gaul to seek aid from his second-cousin, Asterix.
