4.5/5 stars

As the fifth episode of the popular anime series Black Lagoon unfolds, we are treated to more of the same blend of high-octane action, witty banter, and complex characters that have come to define the show.

The character development continues to be a strong point for the series, with Rock's struggles to adjust to life on the Lagoon coming to the forefront. His naivety and idealism are expertly contrasted with the harsh realities of the world he now inhabits, making for some compelling viewing.

The supporting cast also shines, with Revy and Dutch providing their usual blend of humor and menace. The dynamic between the three leads continues to be a highlight of the series, and their interactions are always engaging and entertaining.

Overall, however, "The Cheetah and the Stained Claw" is another strong entry in the Black Lagoon series. Fans of the show will likely find themselves drawn into the world of the Lagoon once again, and newcomers will find plenty to enjoy in this gritty and engaging anime.

The episode centers around Rokuro Okajima, aka Rock, as he becomes embroiled in a tense situation with a local Triad gang. The episode expertly navigates the intricate web of relationships and power struggles within the underworld of Southeast Asia, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

If there's one area where the episode falls short, it's in its somewhat predictable plot twists. While the episode is well-executed and engaging, some of the character motivations and plot developments feel a bit formulaic.
