As an artist, I'm drawn to the photo-collage medium as a means of exploring the complex relationships between memory, perception, and reality. With "Ephemeral Horizons," I aim to create a dreamlike landscape that disorients and intrigues, while also prompting the viewer to consider the impermanence of all things.

The collage is divided into two main sections: the top two-thirds feature a sweeping horizon line, created from a combination of aerial photographs, skyscapes, and hazy mountain ranges. The images are distressed and torn, with visible creases and frayed edges, evoking a sense of fragility and impermanence.

The overall color palette is muted, with a predominance of blues, greys, and earth tones. The aerial photographs and skyscapes feature soft, serene hues, while the vintage images are often rendered in warm, sepia-toned colors. Occasional flashes of bright color – from a snippet of brightly colored fabric to a gleaming chrome bumper – add visual interest and create a sense of depth.
