In Season 2, Episode 8 of Kitchen Nightmares , Gordon Ramsay attempted to save Sabatiello’s, a Stamford, Connecticut Italian restaurant burdened by $1 million in debt and the combative owner Sammy Settembre. Despite a rebrand to an Italian Steakhouse and a successful relaunch, the restaurant closed in late 2008 following owner vandalism and legal issues. Read more at Reality TV Revisited .
